Gbenga Owolabi: More photos from his funeral as call for Yoruba nation reechoes

ogbomosoinsightonoline.com reported the late Mr. Gbenga Owolabi CEO of Tana Suites, Abaa, along Ilorin road, Ogbomoso, Oyo state, abducted and murdered by kidnappers at his hotel along with one of his staff, Rachael Opadele, was finally laid to rest Saturday in the US, where he was resident.

David Isola Abolarinwa Oluwagbenga Owolabi hailed from Fiditi (situated between Oyo town and Ibadan) in Oyo state, born March 10, 1967.

He later relocated to the United States of America, where he also studied information system.

The pull of home brought him back to Nigeria to set up businesses. He founded Tana Suites, which was opened last December, and had several acres of land for farming activities.

He had great ambition to provide employments for youths thereby contributing to the economic development of his fatherland. Unfortunately, his life was cut short in his prime by suspected Fulani bandits.

The manner in which he was killed after collection of N5m ransom has given fillip to the call for a separate nation for the Yoruba people.

This is according to video footages of the funeral events monitored by ogbomosoinsightonline.com.

There were strident calls at the funeral for the actualisation of the Yoruba nation in earnest with many speakers opining that remaining in Nigeria exposes the Yoruba people to such dangers.

“Who will come to that crazy country to be killed like chicken? Yoruba nation is a must,” one speaker fumed.

There were addresses and rallies in which the imperativeness of Yoruba nation was emphasized.
