LAUTECH Prof Abass who slumped yesterday for burial today


Olajire Abass, a Professor of Industrial Environmental Chemistry at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, who slumped and died yesterday during Jumat service would be buried today at his hometown, Ibadan, capital of Oyo state.
The programme is scheduled to start at 10am and will be buried at UNIFEMGA Burial Ground, Ile Igbon, along Olodo -Iyana Offa Road.
In a statement by Kazeem Olajire, obtained by ogbomosoinsightonline.com, the family prays for the repose of the soul of the one time Dean of the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences, LAUTECH, “May Almighty Allah accept his return and grant him Janatul Fridaws Aameen,” the statement reads.
His death at 59 has left many people in sad mood.
He is described as a first rate scientist whose contributions have helped in the impressive rate often enjoyed by LAUTECH like being the best state university in Nigeria.
“He will be sorely missed,” one of his (former) colleagues said.
