The twins town of Igboora, headquarters of Ibarapa Central local government area of Oyo state, was agog today as the traditional ruler of the town, Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye Asoorolu Ayinla V, received the staff of office, from the Oyo state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde.
The governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon Segun Ogunwuyi, congratulated the Oba while urging him to work for the progress of his domain and to continue to support the state government.
The Olu of Igboora, Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye, who hails from the Asoorolu Ruling House, was selected in November 2018.
He was installed in 2019 but the coronation could not take place due to the outbreak of covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, led other traditional rulers to the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology community to celebrate with the new Olu of Igbo-Ora.
Oba Titiloye was born on August 4, 1961 to the family of Pa Titiloye Alliu Bamigbose of Asoro-Olu Ruling house, Oke Iserin, Igbo-Ora and Titilayo Ashiawu Agbeke of Olukosi compound of Iberekodo, Igbo-Ora.
He attended Nawal-Ud-Deen Primary School, Igbo-Ora and Methodist Modern School, Igbo-Ora.
He thereafter proceeded to Government Technical College, Ayetoro and The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Esa-Oke Campus. He obtained a B.Sc degree in Industrial Technical Education from University of Nigeria, Nsukka and a Master of Business Administration with specialization in International Business Management from Lagos State University, Ojoo, Lagos. He is a member of Institute of purchasing and supply management of Nigeria and a technical consultant trained both locally and abroad.
He succeeded Oba Jamiu Adedamola Badmus (JP), Ayeleso III, Olu-Aso of Iberekodo, Igbo-Ora.
The progenitor of Igbo-Ora people, Obe Alade, was a descendant of Alaafin of Oyo. He departed Oyo with his supporters after losing out in a chieftaincy tussle to found Igbo-Ora.
