This is just as it is gathered that the venue for the temporary takeoff is yet undecided by the Federal Ministry of Education even as two towns are in contention for the purpose: Ajaawa, headquarters of Ogo-Oluwa local government and Idi-Ayin in Surulere local government, both in Ogbomoso zone.

This is not unconnected with lack of suitable facilities at the permanent site, that is Ayede. Its only secondary school that could be considered is not released by the Oyo state government, just as the state government declines the use of Government Technical College, Ogbomoso.
However, the place suggested for the takeoff in Ajaawa is also a public secondary school – Ajaawa Grammar School, which has the express approval of the Oyo state government.
Idi-Ayin, along Ogbomoso-Iresaapa road has on its ground a federal government-owned youth centre, National Youth Development Centre (NYDC), with state-of-the-art facilities and which recently was upgraded with a whopping N95m by the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports Development under whose auspices the centre is.
The rehabilitation, which is phase one, was facilitated by Chief Sunday Dare, an indigene of Ogbomoso, who is Minister of Youths and Sports Development, to enhance the takeoff of the polytechnic.
But is seems the powers-that-be at the state level are much interested in working for the concession of the location to the rival Ajaawa.
As at the last count the main temporary site is yet to be communicated to the authorities of the school, it is gathered.
The five schools approved for takeoff, for the next five years (2021-2026), therefore are School of Agriculture Technology, School of Engineering, School of Environment and Valuation, School of Management Science and School of Science and Technology.
The School of Agriculture Technology will harbour Department of Agriculture Technology and Department of Agricultural Extension and Management; the School of Engineering has the Departments of Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Computer Engineering Technology; while the School of Environment and Valuation, will take off with Department of Urban and Regional Planning.
Others, School of Management Science will run the Department of Accountancy and Department of Business Administration and Management; while School of Science and Technology will admit undergraduates in the Departments of Computer Science; Science Laboratory Technology and Tourism and Leisure Management.
It is also learnt nonetheless that the N2b approved for takeoff by the federal government is yet to be released to any of the newly established polytechnics, making the authorities operate currently under stringent conditions but it is ascertained that the institution will take off as scheduled in the next academic session.
