Ahmed Gulak, Jonathan’s former aide shot dead in Imo by unknown gunmen

It has been reported that a former presidential aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Ahmed Gulak, had been gunned down by unknown gunmen in Imo State.
Sources said that he was waylaid while on his way to Sam Mbakwe International Cargo airport. However, his mission in the state that has been ravaged by insecurity in recent times is not known as at the time of filing this report.
His motorcade was attacked at a place called Obiagwa, close to the Airport.
The late Gulak was riding in his car, a Camry, marked Texas BFT 2150, it was learnt when he came under hails of bullets.
The Imo state Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro, confirmed the development.
His friend, Dr. Umar Ado, who was his school mate, similarly announced Gulak’s passage.
The CP said, “It is true but the details are sketchy. I am on the way to the airport. Please call the CP in charge of Airport. He will give more details. You know that Imo command is different from Airport command.”
Gulak was the Special Adviser on Political Affairs to President Goodluck Jonathan, who led the country between 2010 and 2015.
It will be recalled that the South-East Nigeria has been under the siege of unknown gunmen in recent times with many policemen and other security operatives allegedly shot dead by these unknown gunmen and several government facilities including police stations and patrol vehicles razed.
