Femi Onireti has taken another step forward to demonstrate his passion for easing the burden of the people as he has provided three boreholes in three communities in Ogbomoso Federal Constituency.
VThe boreholes located at Osupa area in Ogbomoso North local government, Akata area in Ogbomoso South local government and Tewure in Oriire local government, are to be commissioned any moment from now.
The commissioning ceremony according to a release personally signed by the philanthropist, will be attended by dignitaries such as Alhaja Mulika Akande-Adeola, a former Majority Leader in the House of Representatives; Alhaja Bose Adedibu, women leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for southwest and who was a wife of late strongman of Ibadan politics, Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu; Hon Fateema Mohammed, a PDP chieftain in Ifako-Ijaye, Lagos state, and who was Director General of Atiku Support Group for 2019 presidential election and founder of Fateema Mohammed Foundation; as well as Mr. Dare Adeleke, chairman, TCTC, Ibadan.
Onireti, a US-based business mogul and chieftain of PDP noted the donation was to address the perennial water shortage in the communities.
Onireti, who runs a foundation, Femi Onireti Foundation added that he always feels pity towards women and children who often especially during the dry season spend long hours to look for water while promising to do more for his people.
A visit to the sites by ogbomosoinsightonline.com reveals the projects were nearing completion even with women and children already thronging the boreholes for water and many expressing joy and singing his praises.
A woman fetching water from one of the facilities was overheard saying, “God will continue to bless Femi Onireti for relieving our pain through the donation of this borehole. We are grateful.”
Onireti it will be recalled recently held an impressive empowerment programme in which items such as deep freezers, barbing clippers, hair dryers, sewing machines, barbing clippers, pedicure tools, beauty tools etc were distributed just as widows and market women benefitted cash donations.
He also in the past paid hospital bills of patients at Bowen University Teaching Hospital (BUTH), Ogbomoso, donated food items to inmates of Lepers’ Colony and regularly awards scholarships to students.
