18 month-old baby crawls into well, dies at Oke-Osuru, Ogbomoso

A toddler has met with a violent end as she drowned in a well at Oke-Osuru, Ogbomoso South local government.
The sad incident, which occured Wednesday morning was said to be due to negligence on the part of her mother.
“The mother just came around and loosed her wrapper to put the 18 month-old baby on the floor and was busy with other things,” ogbomosoinsightonline.com was informed by a source.
“She didn’t know when the baby crawled to the well which is open and level with the ground because it does not have rings.
“The baby unconsciously fell into the well. Before fire brigade operatives came around she had been retrieved but dead, which was confirmed at the General Hospital.”
The matter was not however reported at the police station as at the time of filing this report.
