TESCOM Ogbomoso’s rebuilding process steps up

The reconstruction of a dilapidated building at the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) Ogbomoso, has continued at an impressive rate.
At Wednesday when ogbomosoinsightonline.com visited the place the reroofing had been completed while it is learnt that fixing of broken floors would immediately commence.
The structure being rehabilitated was in a terrible state before the authorities of the commission in Ogbomoso stepped up to salvage the situation.
“The project is being undertaken by the commission at the zonal level, it is all down to the efforts of the tutor-general of TESCOM in the zone,” a source informed.
Prior the intervention, the building, one of the two being used by the commission, was already in a state of disrepair (rotted zinc, leaking roof, faded walls etc) so bad that a larger part of it was abandoned.
ogbomosoinsightonline.com made a report on its sordid state, calling on philanthropists, politicians and other well-meaning Nigerians to assist in rehabilitating the building in view of the importance of education and the place of TESCOM in secondary education, but before any external intervention, the zonal office took it upon itself to undertake the rebuilding project.
The head of the zonal office, a tutor-general, Mr. Olatunde Suulola, was not around when our correspondent visited as he was said to have gone on monitoring of schools in the zone.
The tutor-general, who is a permanent secretary, appears to be a rebuilder both in terms of physical structure and of operating system.
“The man has been up and doing in the discharge of his core duties. He is practical in approach, he is re-engineering the area within his purview. His office is the field, where he monitors schools with special focus on school’s administrators and teachers,” a tutor in one of the schools in the zone who however pleaded to be anonymous informed.
“He is rejiggering the system for more effectiveness and efficiency. He brings passion to the job and he is infusing everyone with his spirit of dedication. Teachers are becoming more alive to their duty of teaching the students. That sense of greater responsibility is being injected,” it was stated.
