Ogbomoso Community Youth Forum (OCYF) has expressed appreciation to the Ogbomoso Joint Action Committee (JAC) for its intervention in the Ajaawa crisis which has led to the release of eight persons in police custody.
This is contained in a press release signed by Rev. Peter Olaleye.and Com. Adeniji Idowu, its president and secretary respectively.
At the height of the protracted crisis OCYF had contacted JAC a joint forum of leaders of umbrella bodies of socio-cultural associations in Ogbomoso.
JAC led by Justice Afolabi Adeniran (rtd), Gen. Oladayo Popoola and Dr Saka Balogun acting on the appeal by OCYF summoned a meeting of the two parties at the centre of the dispute during which a truce was brokered.
Following this successful peace meeting Prince Gideon Oyekunle who reported the matter to the police as his houses in Ajaaw were razed during the unrest, withdrew the case leading to the release of the eight persons.
