Aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has has reacted to the news making the rounds that some Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists surrendered to the Nigerian Army which subsequently embraced them and were seen in a viral video being given foods by army personnel.
The over 1000 terrorists who reportedly claimed they surrendered following their successful escape from the Boko Haram/ISWAP camps, made possible due to divisions in the sects informed they were forcefully drafted into the criminal sects when they were young.
The army accepted them with open arms as they were deemed as repentant, pending further determination of their true intents.
But reacting, Omokri in a Twitter post noted, “Every Southerner that still supports the persecution of Nnamdi Kanu and the persecution of Sunday Igboho, after watching this government parade hardened Boko Haram killers and asking us to forgive them, is a Southerner that should be rejected by their community.”
Recall that the Federal Government has effected the arrest of Biafra separatist leader, Nnamdi Kanu for agitating a separate nation for the people of the South East of Nigeria. He was arrested in Kenya and extradited illegally to Nigeria.
In the same vein, Chief Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho, the leading agitator for Yoruba nation had his residence in Ibadan invaded by government troops on July 1, killing two persons and arresting 12, he himself escaping by the whiskers. He was subsequently declared wanted before being arrested in Benin Republic with his wife while trying to jet out to Germany.
