Tthe chairman of Ogbomoso United Football Club, Hon Akinwale Akinwole has restated his commitment to the club promising to build a stronger team.
Akinwole popularly known as Wolekanle assured on better welfare for both players and management remarking that it is only when a team is motivated that it can post impressive performances.
Wolekanle while speaking with journalists disclosed he was impressed by the club’s performance in the Nigeria Nationwide League Division Two (NL2) during the recently concluded season.
He now unveiled the plan of the club to recruit fresh and talented players as well as opening the club’s newly built camp in Ogbomoso.
The teams impressive performance in the NL 2 further boosted my morale and l now have more confidence in the team.
“One of the reasons l initiated the club is simply to identify and develop talents to enhance their career in soccer. And to an extent God has been faithful to us, very soon some of our players will be plying their trade in the European leagues.”
Wolekanle, who is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, equally commended Engineer ‘Seyi Makinde, Oyo state governor, on the development of sporting facilities accross the state.
He said the upgrading of Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Olubadan Stadium and others in Ogbomoso, Iseyin, Saki, Oyo and Ibarapa are pointer to the fact that Governor Makinde is determined to take sport to the next level in the state.
As a club owner and football enthusiast, i believe this unprecedented development will go a long way in helping the youths build and develop careers in sports.
He consequently urged the youths to support the governor and ensure the emerging infrastructures are maximally utilized to enhance their career.
