Oyo state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has promised to construct the first overhead bridge in Ogbomoso before the year 2023 when his first tenure would end.
Engr. Makinde made this promise this afternoon during his visit to Ogbomoso as part of activities marking his second anniversary in office.
Makinde who had earlier commissioned projects at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, where he also slashed school fees of the students of the institution by 25%, which he just gotten solely for Oyo state, said while speaking at Ogunlola Hall, Oja’gbo, Ogbomoso where he held his town hall meeting, that he had gone round Ogbomoso and did not see a single overhead bridge thus assured that he would commission one before 2023.
“I have gone round Ogbomoso since morning and I did not see a single overhead bridge in the city. I promise you we will commission one in Ogbomoso before 2023.”
He also promised to construct a road between Ibadan and Ogbomoso via Iseyin and Oyo, saying, “this becomes necessary since we don’t know when the federal government would complete the expressway under construction.”
Similarly, Engr. Makinde assured he would set up a task force throughout the state to enforce ban on open grazing law, noting, “I want to say that we will set up a task force to enforce the law on ban on open grazing. I want to assure the people of Oyo state on this.
“An Ogbomoso person is the Oyo state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Oyelowo Oyewo and this will be perfected within eight weeks.”
