Aaje community Ogbomoso mourns death of ‘loyal royal servant’

Aaje a.k.a. Ologo in Ogbomoso is engulfed in grief following the passing away of a palace servant, Audu Bala, a northerner, who served as security guard and in other various capacities for over fifty years in the community.
Bala died Thursday April 18 during a brief illness at a maternity centre in the community.
His death was mourned deeply by the residents of Aaje at their homestead off Ikoyi road in Ogbomoso North local government.

“He served for over fifty years and throughout he never wavered, he never for once betrayed Kabiyesi or anyone,” said a statement announcing his death, signed by an aide of Alaaje Ologo His Royal Highness Reuben Adesina Amao, which was made available to ogbomosoinsightonline.com.

“He was from Kebbi state and is survived by a wife and children who are with us. He was a lovely person and industrious. He once worked with the Ogbomoso North local government.
“Bala was in charge of Aaje family farmland at some time and at a time worked as a security guard at Onigbinde Farm. He was a dependable servant who on many occasions warded off sponsored hoodlums who invaded the palace. He at other times too singularly thwarted armed robbers and kidnappers operations in the community, apprehending them.
“When Kabiyesi Alaaje was still in the service of the Department of State Service (DSS), Bala was one of those who looked after his estate, taking care of his belongings. He served with loyalty and that’s why Kabiyesi rewarded him with a plot of land in Aaje and made him live in his compound until his passing.

“He spoke Hausa and Fulani fluently. He was such a beloved personality that almost everyone in the community attended his burial and paid condolence visit to his family,” the statement further disclosed.
Residents who also spoke with Ogbomoso Insight attested to his being “a good and loyal servant of Alaaje Adesina.”
The deceased has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
