Excitement as SS 2 student emerges one-day chairman in Ogbomoso North

A senior secondary school 2 student of Anglican Grammar School, Sabo, Ogbomoso, Alafara Oluwatunmise, has emerged one-day chairman in Ogbomoso North local government of Oyo state, while lauding the serving chairman, Alhaji Kabir Ayoade Akanji, as a lover of youth.
Miss Alafara Oluwatunmise attained the feat by emerging winner of a quiz competition alongside her compatriot Miss Abayomi Omobolanle, who emerged one-day vice chairperson. The keenly contested competition comprised all schools in the local government.
Also, Master Olakunle Emmanuel of George Green Baptist College and Peter Bright of Faith School served as Leader and Majority Leader of the Legislative House respectively.

The swearing-in ceremony of the chairperson and her vice was performed by the establishment officer of the council, Mr. Olu Abiodun.

The one-day chairperson in her inaugural speech expressed joy on her accomplishment and praised the chairman for his support and encouragement.
“I feel honoured and l am imbued with great joy to occupy this exalted seat even if it is for one day. My greatest thanks go to the lover of youth and father, Hon Kabir Ayoade Akanji, the substantive chairman, for accommodating our dreams.”

In his speech the Chief of Staff to the chairman, Abdulazeez Ibrahim, eulogized the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his unalloyed affection for the youth.
Basiru Gbadamosi, another aide of the chairman urged the one-day chairperson to remain focused saying, “Who says you can’t emerge as chairperson in the future?”
