Oyo govt confirms Dec 19 date for presentation of staff of office to Soun, Aseyin Dec 14

Oyo state governor Engr Seyi Makinde has confirmed staff of office would be presented to the new Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, while that of Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Olawale Oyebole Adeyeri II, which is to come up earlier will hold Thursday, December 14.
This was disclosed in a statement signed Thursday by Oyo state Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade.
Towards having successful events the government set up a coronation committee headed by Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Chief Segun Ogunwuyi.

Other members of the committee which is working in conjunctions with local coronation committees in the two towns are Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Segun Olayiwola; Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun; Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade and Executive Assistant to the Governor on Security, Sunday Odukoya (CP rtd.).
The state government consequently solicited the people of the state to fully support the “big events,” assuring all is set to have memorable ceremonies in the two ancient towns.
Recall Oba Olaoye Orumogege III was installed on September 8, 2023 after being selected by kingmakers on March 22, 2022, while Oba Oyebola Adeyeri II was enthroned also in September shortly after his selection and approval by the Iseyin kingmakers.
