Alaipo of Orile-Aipo installs first Baale Ojatitun, cabinet chief, invites investors to community

Aipo community in Oriire local government area of Ogbomoso zone, Oyo state, Thursday (April 10), came alive as two chiefs were installed by the Alaipo of Orile Aipo, HRH Oba Thomas Onaolapo Ajadi Oloyede IV.
Chief Samson Oyedemi Olasupo Sangobukola was installed as first Baale Ojatitun while Chief Jacob Alabi Olawuyi was installed as Ikolaba of Orile-Aipo.
Ojatitun a village under Aipo approximately 3 kilometers from the Alaipo’s palace was previously ruled based on the principle of primogeniture (leadership by the oldest person) tagged Baale (family head). Thus, the installation of High Chief Sangobukola marked a significant milestone for the historically rich town.
Founded in 1942, it has been ruled by about 14 to 15 Baáles (family heads) and so the Alaipo noted that the creation of the chieftaincy and the appointment of the pioneer chief is expected to “revitalize the town’s leadership and spark progress.”
He said Ojatitun being a community rich in fertile lands suitable for cashew plantation, cassava, yam, and other cash crops, needs someone that will help her tap into its agricultural wealth for development and for the good of its people, stressing that with the installation of High Chief Sangobukola this goal will be achieved.
He also informed it is a community with a thriving garri processing industry, and in the past boasted a vibrant market (from which the village got its name) therefore calling on investors to explore the opportunities in Orile-Aipo and its communities.
The new Baale, Chief Sangobukola expressed profound gratitude to Oba Thomas Onaolapo Ajadi Oloyede IV for “honoring my ancestors’ loyalty as the first settlers of Ojatitun.”
He acknowledged the significance of being entrusted as the first Baale of this newly established chieftaincy, thanking the Alaipo, the Oriire local government Traditional Council, and the Oyo state government, particularly Governor Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, for their support in this initiative.
He prayed for long life and sustained leadership of Kabiesi Alaipo.
High Chief Olawuyi the new Ikolaba Alaipo succeeded his father, Chief David Olawuyi, who passed away in 2023. He hails from the Agboriodo family of Orile Aipo, which has historical ties to the town dating back to the post-Fulani war.

Alaipo also urged the new Ikolaba to be driven by high level commitment and goals towards contributing to the progress of the community.
The ceremony drew dignitaries from all walks of life to the ancient communiy; just as there was a large presence of law enforcement agencies including the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Department of State Services (DSS), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Amotekun Corps, and the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC).
In a chat with ogbomosoinsightonline.com, the Alaipo remarked that the ceremony “reinforces the cultural heritage and governance of Orile Aipo,” promising “a new chapter in the town’s development and community leadership.”
