OFFICIAL: JAMB announces Alayande David, Ogbomoso indigene, joint top scorer of 2024 UTME (see photo)

It is now official, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced Alayande David, a student of Ogbomoso, Oyo state origin as joint top scorer of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Alayande David scored 367 (out of 400), a score however attained by two other candidates – Olowu David from Ondo state and Orukpe Joel from Edo state.

ogbomosoinsightonline.com reports earlier that Alayande David who hails from Obesilo compound, Isale-Ora, Ogbomoso, was honoured by the Ogbomoso Community Foundation (OCF) for his exceptional feat during the association’s Annual General Assembly at the Ogbomoso Recreation Club in December. According to the socio-cultural organization the information was sourced from the JAMB portal, Alayande who passed out of Zamani College, Kaduna in Kaduna state, was honoured along with other prominent individuals and contributors to Ogbomoso’s development including the student who recorded best National Examinations Council (NECO) in Ogbomoso zone in 2024, Olayanju Praise Adeyinka

According to JAMB2025.COM, Prof. Is-haq Alayande, JAMB Registrar, made the announcement during the policy policy meeting of the body in July but just being made public via JAMB2025.COM. Prof. Oloyede reportedly unveiled that the highest scores ranged between 363 and 367, commending the candidates for their “exceptional performance.”

The 13 top scorers are Olowu David (367), Ondo state; Alayande David (367), Oyo state; Orukpe Joel (367), Edo state; Emmanuel Jeremiah (366), Akwa Ibom state; Essiet Etimi (365). Akwa Ibom state; Ezenwoko Zara (365), Abia state; Umoh Joshua (365), Akwa Ibom state; and Mamudu Abdulraham (364), Edo state.
Others are Adeleke Abdulbasit (363), Kwara state; Echem Victor (363), Rivers state; Etute Emmanuel (3673), Edo state; Jedidiah Chidiebube (363), Imo state; and Adesanya Oluwatimilehin (363), Ogun state.

Prof. Oloyede lauded the students saying their achievements underscored their devotion to hard work, discipline, and determination in achieving academic excellence.
