Still on Ogbomoso festival – Need to involve non-indigenes and other suggestions
Abimbola AdeOluwa Oke aired his views on the upcoming Ogbomoso Culture and Tourism Festival in Ogbomoso Insight published Saturday. Oke, an architect, in this piece has made further submissions on what can contribute to floating a world class event.
… I’ll suggest also that all non indigenes resident in Ogbomoso should be carried along. They should be allowed also to showcase their unique culture. We have relegated Ogbomoso arts, culture, fashion and cuisines for too long, it’s now time to show all we stand for to the world. No one will showcase you if you don’t showcase yourself.

Ogbomoso music is another dimension that we need to advertise to the world. During the festival, I suggest that there should be dramas and concerts of Yoruba/Ogbomoso music every evening.
Ogun Oja ilu Ogbomoso is a unique history and legacy that must be preserved and celebrated. Let the world know about it. We have closed up for too long, let’s open up Ogbomoso. Our hotels and accommodations in Ogbomoso must step up.
Ogbomoso culture and tourism festival is going to be a money spinner that will boost the economy of Ogbomoso land every year and attract investors to the ancient town.

I have traveled home many times in December with my children and non indigene wife but had nothing to show them in Ogbomoso except “Alagba” of blessed memory.
So please I appeal to the committee members set up by the Kabiyesi himself to be passionate about this event and let’s elaborate it to attract international recognitions God helping us. Ilu Ogbomoso Yio GbE wa o. Konibaje!
I suggest that a piece of land should be designated by Kabiyesi for the design and implementation of the Ogbomoso culture and tourism festival village immediately.
