Firefighters were also seen at the scene to forestall fire outbreak.

The incident had triggered traffic snarl in the metropolis with a long line of vehicles particularly articulated vehicles in the major trunk A road.

Recall the Takie roundabout is a usual spot for accidents prompting many to call for a flyover at the roundabout as well as expediting action on the Ogbomoso-Oyo section of the new Ilorin-Ibadan highway in order to divert the movement of trucks outside the metropolis.

  1. Thank God the casualty rate was minimal. However, it is high time a flyover was built at the Takie intersection to put an end to the perennial accident. Or alternatively, the road should be dualized right from Ogbomoso High School and to terminate at Aroje axis This will provide enough room for the articulated vehicle to manoeuvre at the Takie intersection. These are the two alternative propositions the State and the Federal Covernment need to consider.
