EXCLUSIVE: How herdsmen killed Ogbomoso pastor – how they were apprehended (PHOTO OF MAIN SUSPECT)

Details have emerged of how Evangelist Segun Adegboyega was killed by Fulani herdsmen Monday at Gege area, a village in the outskirts of Ogbomoso, Oyo state along Ogbomoso – Iseyin highway dubbed Akala Highway.
The deceased who was in his 40s woke up hale and hearty Monday without any premonition of death, in fact, he was said to have taken his children to school that morning and was actively involved in a crusade at Arowomole, which ended Sunday evening. He was said to be a fervent deliverance minister.

According to investigations by ogbomosoinsightonline.com (now late) Evangelist Adegboyega built his house at Gege, where he had a small backyard farm.
The inexplicable thing is that the herdsmen were well known to him since their settlement (gaa) was nearby, right behind his residence.
“The man took his children to school that morning,” a source told ogbomosoinsightonline.com.
“Later that morning the Fulani herdsmen came to his backyard farm to graze, and he came out to curb them. ‘Why destroying my crops?’
“But as he turned his back on them to access his house one of the herdsmen just dashed after him and stabbed him from the back. It was so sudden, he could not have anticipated such an innocent check on destroyers of his farm would elicit such fatal attack.
“The dagger went straight into his body piercing through, with the blade emerging through the stomach. After the man fell, the killer was still thrusting the dagger into him at different parts. He lost so much blood before help could come.”

He was rushed to the hospital but it was too late.
Thereafter, the other residents mobilized and started looking for the killers in the bush.
They eventually found them running away. “People identified them when they led the cow to the farm earlier and so, they were the prime suspects. People eventually found them, overpowered them and took them to the palace to involve the monarch in the strive to get justice.”
That “justice” meanwhile is what the traditional ruler of the ancient city Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III the Soun had assured while reacting to the incident.
Three herdsmen were arrested including the two who were at the scene and their alleged boss who was arrested separately.

I salute the courage and brave act exhibited by the people who made the arrest of the suspects.
