Details emerged of how properties worth millions of naira got razed at Akala’s estate

Details have emerged of how a building in the estate of late former governor of Oyo state Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala got razed down by fire early this morning.

Moments ago ogbomosoinsightonline.com broke the news of the inferno reporting there were claims two persons dying in the disastrous fire.
Further findings have revealed that two ladies actually were burnt in the fire which razed the whole bungalow including properties worth millions in naira.
The bungalow is one of the buildings in the expansive compound of the former governor and it is the one he resided in until he emerged deputy governor in the state. He lived in the house when he served as chairman of Ogbomoso North local government between 1999 and 2003.

According to an insider who however would not want to be mentioned, one of the survivors (names withheld) said he woke up at about 8am when he noticed smoke from a part of the building but he didn’t know was the cause.
“However, before the import of what could be happening dawned on me smoke had already filled the whole building. I rushed out after I had inhaled loads of smoke. The building was engulfed in fire. In fact, I could not see again and was on the point of collapse when I fell out of the door coughing violently.
“There were two other girls in the house who were still sleeping, they could not escape as they must have been choked by smoke,” he said.
The two girls were among those given accommodation by the late former governor, some of whom lived in that particular building where his aides also occupied.
The whole house got burnt down with properties worth millions of naira going up in flames. it was the arrival of the operatives of the fire brigade that put the situation under control.
The remains of the two girls are said to have been deposited in a morgue.
Meanwhile electric spark is suspected as the cause of the fire as it reportedly started from the roof where electric wires passed.
Sympathizers have been thronging the estate.
Chief Alao-Akala died on January 12, 2022 at the age of of 71, he was governor of the state from January 12 2006 and December 17, 2006 and from May 29 2007 to May 29 2011. His efforts to return to the Agodi Government House thereafter did not materialize.
