Ogbomoso Ajilete Group Ibadan pays homage to Soun, thanks Gov Makinde

Ogbomoso Ajilete Group Ibadan has joined other enthusiastic groups, clubs and individuals to felicitate the Soun of Ogbomosoland Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III on his ascension to the throne of his forefathers.

Oba Olaoye who was installed September 8 received members of the socio-cultural association last Saturday led by their president Dr Adebayo Busari and secretary Mr. Atanda Abraham.

In their congratulatory message the members noted the ascension of Oba Olaoye is a welcome development indicated by the love and goodwill messages continuously pouring in for the monarch expressing assurance that his reign would spark monumental development.

The group also showered commendations on the Oyo state governor Engr Seyi Makinde for approving the choice of Oba Ghandi while praying God will grant him the wisdom to lead right.

It described his emergence as an act of God confident his reign would foster unity and peaceful co-existence in the community.

“With high sense of humility and responsibility, the members of Ogbomoso Ajilete Group, hereby Congratulate His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, Soun of Ogbomoso Land.

“The whole of Ogbomoso land have been thrown into a joyous mood and happiness for some weeks now, after about 22 months of vacuum and uncertainties on the issue of Obaship. We do hope that during your reign, Ogbomoso land will witness tremendous socio-economic and political development. This will go a long way to improve the livelihood of the people of Ogbomoso land.

“The Group, highly commend the Oyo State Governor, His Excellency (Engr.) Dr. Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde for giving approval to the choice and recommendation of the kingmakers and the people of Ogbomoso land. We wish His Imperial majesty, God’s guidance in the big task of administering Ogbomoso land for rapid development.

“The emergence of the Soun is an act of God, and we hope that his reign would engender peaceful co-existence of Ogbomoso land.”

In his response Soun briefly highlighted his vision calling on members of the association to key in with enthusiasm and contribute ideas too that will make Ogbomoso a model city.

The monarch urged the group to come up with a development agenda which would be harmonized with others’ to realize the dream of a greater Ogbomoso.

Oba Olaoye intimated members of his 25-year development plan stressing it’s a blueprint that is still evolving and so call for the contributions of all sons and daughters of the city.

“We have a daunting task to turn Ogbomoso into a model city. We will work to bolster the basic infrastructures especially electricity, water and road and the framework to achieve this development goal,” the Oba said.
