Official statement on Iwuye ceremony of Oba Ghandi Olaoye III released

As tomorrow, Thursday September 14, marks the end of the seven-day seclusion rite of the new Soun of Ogbomosoland Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, there will be official public appearance of the monarch in accordance with tradition.

The ceremony, according to a release by His Majesty’s media team, will involve royal parade from Ogbomoso High School to the palace at Oja’gbo.

 

Various events have been lined up also at the palace including an interdenominational service, goodwill messages and invocation of prayers and blessings for the people and community.

Among the programme personnel is Brother Gbile Akanni from Gboko, Benue state who incidentally is an indigene of Ogbomoso.

 

The release in full:

 

“His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, the Soun of Ogbomoso land, will at the end of the 7-day seclusion rite tomorrow, Thursday 14th, September, make a formal public appearance.

 

“The occasion will afford the people of Ogbomoso to have interface with their new Oba.

 

“The epoch making event will feature goodwill messages from stakeholders including renowned Man of God, Brother Gbile Akanni, revered clerics and community leaders. Gbenjo Laolu will lead in praises. Then, prayers will be offered for peace and prosperity of the community

 

“The itinerary will begin at Ogbomoso High School end of the city according to the wishes of his subjects.

 

“We implore everyone to comport themselves peacefully and in civil manners as we together make a landmark leap in the annals of our beloved city and strive to build on past efforts so as to make the realm better and greater.

 

“Kabiyesi wishes all comfort, peace, good health and prosperity during his reign which promises to be eventful on the good side.

 

“Thank you.”
