Ogbomoso University: December 27 is fund raising day – Check details

The fund raising event for the proposed Ogbomoso University will come up on December 27, 2023.

This is according to a press release by the promoters of the university The Ogbomoso Academics and Ogbomoso Community Youth Forum (OCYF) made available to ogbomosoinsightonline.com.
Recall that a summit of the proposal was held in June in Ogbomoso in which general opinion favoured the establishment of the university.

Towards this end the release states “This is to inform Ogbomoso sons and daughters that 27th of December, 2023, has been picked for the fund raising and sales of shares for the Ogbomoso University.”

Aside raising fund for the project the plan is to work out a modality that will have interested individuals own shares in the university.

“It is a big project and one thing that will assist in reaching our financial target is making willing donors shareholders in the ownership of the university,” Rev’d Peter Olaleye, president of OCYF told ogbomosoinsightonline.com while speaking further on the matter.

Calling on indigenes at home and in the diaspora to enthusiastically identify with the project it gave the venue of the fund raising event as Pine Valley High School, old Ogbomoso-Ilorin road, Ogbomoso, starting 9am.

Pine Valley High School is the proposed taking off site for the institution.

Meanwhile, the promoters expressed gratitude to all who attended the summit held on June 24 for their support specifically mentioning some individuals and associations including Justice Afolabi Adeniran (president, Ogbomoso Parapo Worldwide), Dr Saka Balogun (co-coordinator Ogbomosoland Consultative Council), Gen. Oladayo Popoola (rtd) (co-coordinator Ogbomosoland Consultative Council), Engr Abu Salam (Arije Magbagbe Ore), Ogbomoso Parapo, Ogbomoso Descendants Development Association (ODDA) and O’First Group.

Others mentioned for appreciation are Ogbomoso Recreation Club, Ogbomoso Community Foundation, Babalojas, Iyalojas, artisans and traders, chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Ogbomoso zone, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and other Christian bodies in Ogbomosoland, Grand Imam of Ogbomosoland, Ogbomoso Muslim Community, League of Imams and Alfas in Ogbomoso, Rev’d Taiwo Opajobi (University Baptist Church, Ogbomoso) and Rev’d Dr Niyi-Thomas Ojo (president, Ogbomoso Baptist Conference).

Also, Oba Thomas Onaolapo Ajadi (Alaipo of Orile Aipo), Oba Samuel Bamigboye (Olopete of Opete), several other royal fathers as well as associations in Ogbomoso were mentioned for gratitude.
