JUST IN: Ogbomoso suffers another blow as 10-yr old Igbon High Court is shut

The Igbon Judicial Division in Orile-Igbon, Surulere local government, Ogbomoso zone of Oyo state, has been hit with technical closure.
ogbomosoinsightonline.com learnt authoritatively that judicial staff including judges at the division had all been posted out “and that is a technical killing of the division.”

This came to the fore Friday during the commissioning of the refurbished Ogbomoso Judicial Division headquarters at Oke-Ado.
The Igbon Judicial Division was facilitated over 10 years ago through the efforts, financial and influence, of the immediate past Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Samuel Adegboyega Osunbade.
A lawyer who spoke with insightonline.com anonymously on the matter said there were over 350 cases currently in the court saying the evacuation would create unnecessary lacuna.
“That should not have been, why should a court that had existed for over ten years be closed down just like that. What has happened is technical killing. Judicial officers have been reposted so it is technical close down.”
The lawyer revealing the same thing happened about five years ago when out of the three magistrate courts in Ogbomoso Judicial Division one was relocated (so to say) and so the city is now left with just two Magistrate Courts – Court one and Court two, which have now been moved from Town Hall Oja’gbo to the High Court complex at Oke-Ado.

The High Courts which used to be three are now two with the “technical killing” of Igbon High Court.
“This is not auspicious,” the lawyer submitted.
“Something should be done about it, it is not right, it has many implications.”
It is further revealed that both the state government and the Chief Judge of the state are silent on the matter.
