The leader of the pan Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, has advised Oyo state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, not to dabble into the group’s leadership tussle.
Adebanjo stated this Wednesday while speaking with reporters.
Recall that Makinde had on Tuesday promised to reconcile the two leaders of the group, Pa Ruben Fasoranti and Adebanjo who had been at loggerheads for sometime.
The governor had during a meeting held in Ibadan appealed to the two leaders to unite for the progress and unity of Yorubaland.
Adebanjo, however, in the interview rebuffed the governor’s effort cautioning him not to trigger any move that would further polarize the organization.
The nonagenarian insisted he had no issue with Fasoranti.
“What Governor Makinde does not know about, he should not interfere. I have no dispute with Baba Fasoranti. He should not be one of those who want to split Afenifere, and that is not what I stand for,” he said.
