How l used legislative power to stop diversion of N3b from LAUTECH – Oyo Majority Leader, Adedoyin

“Many things happen that people don’t know about,” Hon Sanjo Onaolapo Adedoyin, who is representing Ogbomoso South state constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly had begun while speaking at a thanksgiving service held in his honour Sunday (June 18) at Oja-Oba Baptist Church, Ogbomoso.
According to Adedoyin, who is returned as Majority Leader in the House, N3b intervention fund from TETFUND got to the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, three years ago or thereabouts, which the then management headed by Osun state indigenes were trying to divert to their state revealing that the moment he was alerted he moved swiftly leveraging on the power of the legislative house to thwart the plan.
He disclosed he caused the whole management to be summoned to the House of Assembly where it was directed to desist from spending the fund until the ownership crisis was resolved.
Sanjay as he is popularly called informed his move frustrated the mischievous plan which could have led to the depletion of the resources of the institution.
“About two or three years ago when the ownership crisis of LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, was at its peak, between Oyo and Osun states, there was an intervention fund from the federal government (TETFUND), around N3b.
“The management then, led by an indigene of Osun state (name withhd), was trying to either divide the money or divert the entire money to Osun state. So, our people (names withheld) at LAUTECH called my attention to it, ‘Honourable, there is N3b on ground they are trying to divert to Osun.
“I had to use the instrument of the House of Assembly to stop the diversion by asking the whole management of LAUTECH to report to the House of Assembly.
“We gave order that no money must be spent until the final resolution of the ownership crisis and to God be the glory the entire money was spent in Oyo state,” Adedoyin concluded.
