The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Osupa ward 9 of Ogbomoso North local government Hon Tunde Iyanda Martins is dead.
He died this morning during a brief illness at the Bowen University Teaching Hospital, BUTH, Ogbomoso.
Iyanda, popularly called Bokky had been sick for some times. It was yesterday however that a party leader, Mr. Olufemi Onireti got to know and so arranged for his being taken to BUTH.
Onireti, who runs a foundation, and a leader of the PDP from Osupa ward, upon hearing of the matter yesterday drove him to the hospital, where he was attended to but he couldn’t make it.
Bokky was reelected on Saturday during the party’s ward congress to continue to lead the party at that level.
It was learnt he had been the party’s chairman since 2011.
He was also a councillor between 2003 and 2006 in Ogbomoso North local government legislative house during which he represented Osupa ward.
Many have described him as a nice person and a good leader.
The Adeniran Memorial Grammar School Ogbomoso alumnus is survived by wife and children.
