BREAKING: New Onisapa, Onijeru emerge in Ogbomoso

History was made early this morning, Tuesday, November 7, 2023, as a new Onisapa of Isapa and Onijeru of Ijeru both in Ogbomoso South local government area of Oyo state, were installed. They are Oba Olajide Ezekiel Bolarin (Onisapa) and Oba Ayinla Lawal (Onijeru of Ijeru).
The new Obas were each installed in separate programmes at about 6:30am by the kingmakers. While the Onisapa was installed at the Isapa royal compound, the Onijeru was inaugurated at Idi-Isin.

Both Obas, Olajide Bolarin from Oniseokun ruling house and Ayinla Lawal from Osotona ruling house have subsequently receded into privacy to undergo the seclusion rites expected to end in seven days’ time for further installation rites.
ogbomosoinsightonline.com recalls that the Onisapa throne became vacant sequel to the demise of Oba Buraimoh Amodu Akinsowon III on January 14, 2021, at the age of 91, 31 years 4 months after his enthronement.
For the immediate past Onijeru, Oba Elijah Popoola he passed away in April 2022.
The two stools were among the 48 whose next occupiers were recently granted approval by the Oyo state government.
With the letters of approval officially received Monday the kingmakers wasted no time in performing the installation rites.

Oba Abolarin lived in Abuja before returning home to emerge counsellor of his ward while Oba Lawal recently retired from the Ogbomoso South local government.
The two were advised by their people to live righteously, seek wisdom and embrace those who contested against them as prayers of long and successful reigns were offered for each of the brand new Kabiyesis.
