Ogbomoso agog as Masifa Utd face Jordan FC in Orumogege Football final tomorrow

The final of the maiden edition of the Orumogege Football Tournament will be held tomorrow, Sunday, December 15, at the Soun Stadium, Ogbomoso.
This is as the organizer, Ogbomoso Community Youth Forum (OCYF) informs that former Minister for Youths and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Dare, has donated a trophy to commemorate the event. Also, Hon Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala, legislator representing Ogbomoso federal constituency, donated 60 pieces, four set of 15 for four teams, and 22 boots for the two finalists.
The final match is between Masifa Utd FC and Jordan FC while Favour FC and Adifala FC will play the third place match. Commencement time is 2pm.
“The much anticipated grand finale of the Orumogege Football Competition will hold tomorrow between Jordan FC and Masifa United FC at the Soun Stadium. This is to also inform the public that the competition has received a boost with the donation of a golden trophy from Hon. Sunday Dare, the Personal Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Public Communication and Orientation and who is also the Agbaakin of Ogbomosoland,” OCYF says in a statement.

Enroute the final, Masifa Utd defeated Adifala FC 2-0 while Jordan FC spanked Favour FC 1-0.
Among dignitaries expected at the final are the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege 111, Oyo State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Debo Ogundoyin and other members of the House, and the Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Wasilat Adegoke.

ogbomosoinsightonline.com further learnt that some others have pledged to support the tournament with various donations like jerseys.
The match has become the talk of the town with many soccer buff in and outside of the city enthusiastically waiting who will lift the coveted trophy.

The competition, which is staged to discover and develop talents, is to herald the first coronation anniversary of Oba Olaoye slated for December 19.
