Adeniran Memorial Grammar School Ogbomoso celebrates founder, Col. Adeniran (rtd), on 46th anniversary

One of the oldest secondary schools in Ogbomoso, Oyo state, Adeniran Memorial Grammar School (AMGS), Wednesday erupted in joy as it clocked 46 years old. It was founded on October 16, 1978 by Col. Adgboyega Adeniran (rtd).
In a show of appreciation and admiration to the great founder, a selfless individual and visionary, students and staff in an ecstatic procession accompanied by drumming, singing and dancing visited Col. Adeniran, who lives at a section of the school premises.
The principal, Mrs. Grace Mojirade Alamu, who led the celebration reflected the happiness of the school while expressing gratitude for the vision of Col. Adeniran, another Nigeria’s Civil War hero from Ogbomoso. She stated at the resident of Col. Adeniran, “We are happy Baba for your vision and commitment to education. The seed you sowed 46 years ago sprouted with vitality and has produced many fruits which are valuable to the society today. Many students who passed through the school are doing well privately and contributing meaningfully to the development of Nigeria today, it is praiseworthy and we pray that God will elongate your life to witness more of this celebration,” adding that the celebration is supported by the old students association.
The elder statesman, who fought bravely in many theatres of the civil war between 1967 and 1970, was all joy, and amid shouts of “congratulations” from his jubilant students and teachers, heaped prayers on the staff and students.
Meanwhile, publisher of ogbomosoinsightonline.com and The Insight newspaper, an old student of the school himself, when contacted, submitted, “It is reward for a good deed,” while charging other well-to-do indigenes to “create impact in the community and strive to leave legacies that will outlive them and which the present and future generations will celebrate. Good deeds will immortalize you in a positive way, they will never be forgotten. People who have the wherewithal should commit resources to physical development in the town, it is a privilege they are rich, they should commit to touching lives. If you continue to keep your money, cuddling them like a new born baby, the day you pass on is the day your memory will go into oblivion.”
