Teacher, former student emerge principal officers at LAUTECH, Henry Newman hails feat

An interesting scenario has emerged at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, as the newly appointed substantive Vice Chancellor Professor Rasak Olatunde Rom Kalilu and the Librarian Dr. Adefunke Sarah Ebijuwa formerly enjoyed teacher-student relationship at Federal Government College (FGCO), Ogbomoso.

ogbomosoinsightonline.com learnt after chairman of the Governing Council, Prof Ayodeji Omole announced Prof Kalilu as nominee for substantive Vice Chancellor, Mrs. Olanike Olayinka Balogun as Registrar and Dr. Adefunke Sarah Ebijuwa as Librarian, that Prof Kalilu indeed was a former Fine Art teacher at FGCO when Serah Adefunke, a daughter of late industrialist, Chief Adebayo Amao-Alata, was a student in the same school. She passed out of the school in 1990 and later proceeded to LAUTECH.

Saying they were classmates at FGCO when Kalilu was a teacher there, PHN expressed congratulations to Dr Ebiajuwa, “With gratitude to God, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Adefunke Sarah Ebijuwa (nee Adebayo Alata) has been named the new University Librarian of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State by The Governing Council of the University.

“Dr Ebijuwa is an Alumnus of this great institution and the first principal officer to emerge as such. May her appointment takes Ladoke Akintola University of Technology to greater heights of success. Congratulations, Dr. Ebijuwa!”

 

The cleric similarly expressed congratulation to Prof Kalilu noting “he has always been a dedicated man. I wish him the best in his new assignment.”

According to a statement signed by the Oyo state Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Prof Salihu Adelabu, Tuesday, Kalilu will formally assume duty June 12 for a single five year term while other principal officers, according to the Council chairman will begin their tenure in August.
