Police Sec Schl Ogbomoso: They gave option of temporary site, but what happened?

The take off of the Nigeria Police Secondary School, Ogbomoso, Oyo state, has become a lingering issue. It was approved years ago after beating off competition from other communities also vying for the hosting right.
But till today the school is yet to see the light of the day, raising concern as to its fate.
Meanwhile, recent reports on the school by Ogbomoso Insight seem to have served as a “wake up call,” as information reaching the stable indicates that eminent persons including some top retired police officers of Ogbomoso origin have stepped in to get the encumbrances removed.
ogbomosoinsightonline.com investigations however revealed that at the time of the approval of the school, the police education unit actually gave the option of finding a temporary site for commencement pending when the permanent site would be constructed at Odanbon.

ogbomosoinsightonline.com took this up with a former general secretary of Ogbomoso Parapo, Hon Chief Michael Abioye, which he confirmed nonetheless highlighting reasons it did not materialize.
According to Hon Abioye, “We were given the option of finding a temporary site for take off of the police school. We considered the facilities of Ogbomoso Grammar School, which the management and superior authorities were ready to release for the purpose.”
He explained this did not work out eventually because the police authority disapproved of the school co-existing with another school in the same compound.
“They were of the view that it could be causing clashes among the students of the two schools. They insisted unless there could be a sort of demarcation with erection of fence between the two schools, such temporary site could not be approved” Abioye added.
“Were it to be a state school perhaps an existing secondary school could be collapsed like it happened in the case of LAUTECH (Ladoke Akintola University of Technology) when Ogbomoso Girls High School was relocated so LAUTECH could use its (old) site.”
So, for lack of a suitable temporary site the momentum freezed and the matter was “set aside.”
Meanwhile, Police Secondary School, Igbo-Ora, also in Oyo state, which got approved at about the same time, interestingly, has been graduating students while that of Ogbomoso is in limbo.
It’s hoped in the meantime that the latest push on the issue by some Ogbomoso high-ups and a top club (names withheld) will yield the desired result.
