Iseyin set for installation of new Oba as Makinde approves Oyebola

Iseyin in Oyo state is set to get a new monarch as the Oyo state governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has approved the appointment of Prince Sefiu Olawale Oyebola as the new Aseyin of Iseyin.
The approval is contained in a memo signed Thursday by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Honourable Olusegun Olayiwola noting it is in the exercise of the powers conferred on the governor by subsections 1 and 2 of the Chiefs’ Law, Cap. 28, Volume I, Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000.

It is added that the the approval was a culmination of a series of processes stipulated by the extant laws of the state regarding ascension to royal thrones.
The governor congratulated the new Aseyin-elect, praying that his reign will usher in greater developments in the Oke-Ogun community.

ogbomosoinsightonline.com recalls that the last Aseyin, Oba Abdulganiy Salawudeen Adekunle Oloogunebi Ajinese 1, joined his ancestors on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at the age of 62 years after having reigned as Aseyin for 15 years.
Two weeks ago the US-based Prince Oyebola was announced as Crown Prince following his selection by the kingmakers.
His installation is expected to take place soon.
