Residents hail Makinde as Ogbegun bridge completes, drainage nears completion

Residents of Ogbegun communities in Ogbomoso North local government area of Oyo state have again lauded the state governor Engr. Seyi Makinde, as the road linking their communities to Owode-Iwofin road which consists of a bridge over Ogbegun river and asphaltic tarring of a stretch measuring 600 metres of the road nears completion.
As at Friday the decking of the bridge had been completed and is now drying out.
The digging and casting of the drainage also progress at heart-warming pace.
In a joint statement signed by chairman and secretary of Oke-Ogbegun Landlords Association, Pa Reuben Omoniyi and Mr. Muhammed Yinusa respectively and chairman and secretary of Ogbegun Mobuwaduro Landlords Association, Oloye Sunday Ishola and Mr. Rasheed Olaoye respectively, and made available to Ogbomoso Insight, Engr. Makinde was described as a governor whose legacy breaks records.
They noted he had turned Oyo state into a giant construction site literally with several road projects going on concurrently.
They stated with his accomplishments in different sectors, his second term bid would be a walkover.
“We are elated by the award of Ogbegun road project because the condition of the road had been a source of concern and indeed hardship to us.
“We made strenuous efforts to have the bridge especially repaired before it was washed off finally to no avail.
“It’s a big relief it’s being done now. It has added to the legacy of Engr. Seyi Makinde, his legacy indeed is record breaking.
“Presently, he has turned Oyo state into a giant site of road constructions, go across the state and you will discover this. This is commendable.
“We wish him success in his second term which we believe is a walk in the park. He has done enough to make people vote for him. His co-contestants can wait for another four years.
“We aren’t a political group but we are passionate about the interest of our communities in Ogbegun area in particular, Ogbomoso and Oyo state in general. This is a working helmsman, he should so be allowed to walk back to the Government House to even work more for the betterment of the state. We support whoever blesses us with developmental projects.”
The statement meanwhile appeals to the governor to execute the second phase of the project which is the rehabilitation of the Iwofin road, which they noted needs drainage, patching of potholes and a bigger bridge at the other side of Ogbegun river crossing.
The statement also expresses gratitude to the chairman of Ogbomoso North local government, Hon Kabir Ayoade for his “relentless efforts in getting the road contract awarded and for his road grading efforts across the council area.”
