Ayede Poly ramps up efforts for commencement of academic activities – See facilities being considered for use

The management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, Ogo-Oluwa local government area of Oyo state, has stepped up efforts to commence academic activities in the next two months.
The first step towards achieving this goal is inspection of facilities and other resources the institution has on offer, and this is scheduled for this week.
Resource inspection is crucial in ascertaining the preparedness of the institution for academic activities and this will be undertaken by the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE).
According to information reaching ogbomosoinsightonline.com, officers from NBTE would painstakingly assess the facilities and other resources and subsequently submit a report.
In order not to fall short in requirements the authorities led by Dr Taofeeq Adekunle Abdulhameed, the Rector, has been ramping up efforts, identifying areas of needs and signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with some institutions to bolster its resources.
In the last one week it has signed two MoUs, first with the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso and then with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), which has a facility at Onipaanu, along Iresaapa road.
Signing the MoU with the Ayede Polytechnic, Friday, for the use of some of its facilities including hostels and lecture rooms, Alhaji Issa Abdul, NDE’s Director of Vocational Skills Development, according to a report by pannigeriannews, said, “We will work together with you to achieve the lofty goals of your institution.
“We are assuring you of our collaboration as outlined in the MoU.”
pannigeriannews similarly reported Dr Abdulhameed, represented by the Librarian, Dr Samuel Ogunniyi, as disclosing two departments might be sited at the NDE facilities.
He reportedly stated, “We have offices and classrooms here for two departments – Hospitality, Leisure and Tourism as well as Agricultural Technology.”
He enthused that the release of the facilities would go a long way in assisting the institution to demonstrate its readiness to commence academic activities latest by January.
“The facility is not only for resource inspection but also for teaching and learning in the Polytechnic.
“So, the facility will be part of the resources that will be showcased to the NBTE next week (this week). That will enable us start our programmes in earnest between December 2022 and January 2023.”
Earlier Thursday, a similar MoU was signed with the management of LAUTECH which also proved the resolve of the authorities of the Polytechnic to roll out with pioneer students.
“The MoU will provide cooperation and support in the academic activities of the infant institution to help strengthen mutual understanding, foster friendly cooperation, promote sustainable and productive academic collaboration, access and use of LAUTECH’s facilities, equipment and resources,” pannigeriannews similarly reported, quoting a statement by the corporate communications committee of the Federal Polytechnic, Ayede.
The partnership also aims at strengthening as well as accelerating the growth of technical education, described as the panacea for industrial revolution in Nigeria.
Aside being offered use of facilities in LAUTECH and NDE, the institution’s temporary site at Iresaapa, Ogbomoso, also has ample edifices boasting lecture rooms, administrative blocks, workshops, laboratories, sporting complex, offices and so on.
In addition to the above, it proposes to avail itself of facilities available at the Community High School, Iresaapa, Pivotal/Adeseun ICT Centre and the newly completed NITDA Community ICT Centre the last two located on the land of Ogbomoso Grammar School at Oke-Owode.
Meanwhile, it is learnt the use of Iresaaapa Community High School is subject to approval by the Oyo state government.
To fulfil its primary mandate, the institution has designed its academic programmes encompassed in various departments, including Schools of Engineering Technology, Environmental Technology, Agricultural Technology, Leisure, Hospitality and Tourism and so on.

Already, these departments are well organized and structured with requisite resource persons well on ground, this is just as other organs for effectiveness and efficiency are well entrenched.
Staff recruitment has taken off at an appreciable rate, it’s obvious all efforts are geared towards forestalling lapses when the ball is finally set rolling.
With this kind of commitment and relentlessness, Ayede Polytechnic is certainly being propped up to fly off on a very strong footing and undoubtedly is poised to be a force to reckon with in the comity of institutions purveying knowledge especially in technical education as being trumpeted by the Rector of the institution at different fora in recent times.
