November 11 is always a special day, globally especially in the U.S., as it is the day Veterans Day is celebrated. Veterans Day is a day of recognition for Americans who had and are serving in the U.S. military. It is a big day of honour. Incidentally, this is the same day our Woman of Honour Hon Mulikat Akande-Adeola was born some sixty something years ago in Ogbomoso, Oyo state.
Hon Milikat is a woman who qualifies to be called a veteran in Nigeria having served at the highest echelon of the society and deserves recognition as a national heroine, being the only woman to have served as Majority Leader in the House of Representatives. And not only did she serve meritoriously she served with distinction and made positive impact at home and at the national level.

I got to know her few years ago but it’s like l have known her for an aeon. She is a big aunt who strives to make life better for those who come within the ambit of her influence. She is a bastion of help, always ready to lift genuine minds to the extent of her capacity. Once you are able to convince her of your genuineness and are true to her, you have her support in your drive to advance your career. I am a career person, a professional in my field and l know what l am saying. She is a beacon of hope, forward looking and a blessing to this generation. It’s no wonder she has a crop of fanatical followers in and out of the political circle, why she remains relevant in the Nigerian socio-political milieu despite having left office since 2015.

I pray the Almighty Allah will continue to uphold the Amazonian woman, one of the finest women Nigeria has produced who served her fatherland at the highest pitch untainted. I wish her many more years of fruitful living.
