Oba Ghandi teams up with partners to begin rehabilitation of dilapidated Ogbomoso trunk A road

The Soun of Ogbomosoland Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege lll has stated that the nightmare faced by residents of the city arising from the severely damaged portions of Ogbomoso – Oyo road within the metropolis, will soon be a thing of the past.
The Oba gave this assurance in a press release he personally signed, titled, “Our effion Ogbomoso trunk A road about to yield result,” and made available to newsmen Friday.
He charged indigenes and partners to continue to contribute in diverse ways to efforts at rebuilding the city in the image desired, informing private intervention on the road initiated by him and other partners will commence immediately.
He noted the initiative will offer meaningful solution pending the time government which he acknowledges faces a lot of challenges will fix the road.

The road, which belongs to the federal government and linking the southwest to the northern part of the country, has become badly riddled with craters within a 500 meter axis in Ogbomoso metropolis especially, causing excruciating traffic gridlock stretching over 70kms on either direction as a result of large volume of heavy duty vehicles plying the road at every minute.
Residents and other travelers have made several appeals to the federal and state governments to repair the road without result, a development provoking forlorn hope among the people.
Acknowledging the hardship imposed by the road he assured of government’s intervention and disclosed he had made arrangements to get the road fixed.
“I am not unaware of the terrible state of roads in our land, Ogbomoso, particularly the trunk A road that is a major economy of Nigeria and West Africa in general. l feel the pain like you feel it. However, l salute your perseverance and forbearance on the state of this road,” he said.
“The road has become a major source of concern to all and sundry because of the lives being lost and the commerce that have hazardly been affected by its deplorable condition, however, we have taken steps to remedy the situation by bringing our plight to the attention of government and relevant agency.

Revealing his plan he now disclosed, “ln the interim, while we wait for government’s intervention, we made some contingency plans to alleviate the problem and bring relief. I am committed to restoration of free flow of traffic in Ogbomoso and environs.
He therefore solicited the support of his subjects in developing the community noting that only in cooperation and collectivism can they achieve the city of their dream. This is as he urged cooperation with the contractor that is being brought to fix the road in the interim.
When ogbomosoinsightonline.com visited the Caretaker end Friday morning aides of the Oba were seen discussing tze matter.
It’s learnt equipment and other materials needed for “a more solid repair” are on their way to Ogbomoso. “Work will definitely start today,” it was stated.
