The Jagunmolu Olubadan of Ibadanland and chairman, Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Chief (Engr) Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has been officially installed as the Asiwaju of Ona Ara Land by the Traditional Council of Ona Ara local government under the leadership of HRM Oba Kolawole Adegbola, Otun Balogun of Ibadanland, and the event was chaired by the immediate past chairman of the Ona Ara Traditional Council, HRM Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, Balogun of Ibadanland yesterday at the local government secretariat.

 

Representing, HRM, Oba Kolawole Adegbola, Oba Kamorudeen Oniladuntan crowned Chief Jubril Sanusi as Asiwaju of Ona Ara land

 

The event saw the attendance of notable dignitaries, including Chief Bayo Oyero former President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), alongside Ibadan Royal Highnesses and Baales of Ibadanland.

In his welcome address, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola expressed gratitude to the Traditional Council chairman, HRM Oba Kolawole Adegbola, ably represented by the Ona Ara Council of Royal Highnesses, HRH Oba Adebowale Kamorudeen JP, Oniladuntan of Laduntan, HRH Oba Muili Mosaderin Ololosunde of Olosunde, HRH Oba Engr. Nureni Yusuf Adegbenro Alajia of Ajia, HRH Oba Yekini Obisesan Alakanran of Akanran and HRH Oba Mudashiru Obisesan Alararomi of Araromi for recognizing Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi’s invaluable contributions to the development of Ona Ara land.

 

The chairman of Ona Ara local government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, also commended Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership and highlighted Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi’s significant financial contributions to key projects in the ongoing #NewEra administration, remarking that many of the over 50 achievements during his administration’s first 100 days were made possible by Chief Sanusi’s support.

 

Chief Bayo Oyero further emphasized that the conferment of the Asiwaju of Ona Ara title on Chief Sanusi was a well-deserved recognition of Dotun Sanusi’s tireless efforts in advancing the community’s development.

Oba Kamorudeen crowned Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi on behalf of the other Obas and Baales forming the Traditional Council of Ona Ara before the representative of the Araba awo of Ibadanland giving leaves of honour to him.

 

In his speech following the installation, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi stated, “This recognition will further strengthens my resolve to continue my dedication to the service of humanity and the development of our communities. Together, we will keep working for a brighter and more prosperous Oyo state.”

 

In goodwill messages, various royal highnesses, including Oba Olasunkanmi Abioye Opeola the Oniroko of Iroko, Alajia of Ajia, HRH Oba Gbolagade Muritala Babalola the Onido of Ido and Onilalulupon of Lalupon, praised Chief Sanusi’s efforts in enhancing the traditional system of Ibadanland.

On behalf of the sons and daughters of Ona Ara, Chief Dipo Gbenro, representing Alhaji Kola Bolomope, president of the Ona Ara Development Forum (ODF), presented a gift as a symbol of appreciation to Chief Jubril Sanusi’s effort to the development of the land.

 

Among the distinguished guests at the event were Dr. Abib Olamitoye (Chairman, Academy Suites and Ibadan Central Hospital), Mogaji Abass Oloko, Iyaloja of Oyo State, Alhaja Saratu Aduke Konibaje, representing Ibadan Mogajis, Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade.
