UI don to deliver Sunday Adewusi 4th memorial lecture Saturday

Professor Oyesoji Aremu of the Department of Counseling and Human Development Studies of the University of Ibadan, is to deliver the fourth memorial lecture of Chief (Dr) Sunday Adewusi (GCON), a former Inspector General of Police.

The lecture biennially organized by the Ogbomoso Community Foundation (OCF) of which Chief Adewusi was the founding leader will hold at the Ogbomoso Recreation Club (ORC) on Saturday February 22, starting 10am.
Prof Aremu will speak on the topic, “Failure of internal security: Dissecting the historical and systemic dysfunctionality of the Nigeria Police Force.”

The event will unfold under the chairmanship of Dr Amos Adamu while Rear Admiral Jacob Ajani (rtd) is special guest of honour.
Major General (Dr.) Oladayo Popoola (rtd), former military governor of Oyo and Ogun states and who is leader of OCF, will be Chief Host at the lecture .

Chief Adewusi who was Asiwaju of Ogbomoso until his death on January 26, 2016 served as IGP between 1981 and 1983 when the military took over government.
