Debo Awogbade, ex-NIS board member, loses mom

A former member of the National Institute of Sports (NIS), Lagos, Mr. Gbadebo Ayorinde Awogbade, has lost his mother.

 

Mama Princess Mary Ebun Olalonpe Awogbade passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the age of 99.

 

This was disclosed in a statement made available to ogbomosoinsightonline.com by Mr. Debo Awogbade.

 

“We lost our mother Mama Princess Mary Ebun Olalonpe Awogbade, on Thursday, January 23, 2025, in Ilorin, Kwara state. She was aged 99 years. Her remains have been deposited at the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso morgue. We will sorely miss her motherly care,” the statement says.

Awogbade, who once served as Administrative Secretary of Crown Football Club, Ogbomoso, informed funeral arrangements will be announced later by the family though stating the traditional ikota (third day ceremony for official announcement of the dead) had been held.

 

The deceased is survived by brothers, a sister, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her husband died 18 years ago in 2006.
