Ogbomoso zone of Oyo state is unique for many reasons. We won’t go into that here nonetheless.
However, it is an agreed fact that of the five local government councils in the zone, Ogbomoso North, which is the mother council area, is the most developed, far ahead of the four others viz: Ogbomoso South, Oriire, Surulere and Ogo-Oluwa. In fact, the concentration of developments in Ogbomoso North has been a source of concern, often arousing silent discontent and resentment. People of other council areas usually accuse her of marginalization and of foisting lopsidedness in terms of development, thus calling for the relax of its grips so as to allow a more even distribution of developments.

But Ogbomoso North is outshone in one area by Surulere local government, whose headquarters is Iresaadu.

What area is that? That is in the number of radio stations available. While Ogbomoso North has only one – Parrot FM, founded by late Adebayo Alao-Akala, Surulere boasts three. These are BCOS Ajilete FM, Gambari, owned by the Oyo state government; FRCN, Ogo-Ilu, Oko, belonging to the federal government, facilitated by Segun Odebunmi a k.a. Bunvic, when he was member of the House of Representatives; and Brave FM, Igbo-Ile, founded by same Hon Odebunmi.
