Couple escapes death in Ogbomoso as container falls on car

A couple Thursday afternoon narrowly escaped death in Ogbomoso, Oyo state, as an articulated vehicle with registration number Nasarawa JZ 101 ZA, bearing a long container fell on their car with Lagos number) at Ogbomoso High School area.

However, the incident occurred a few minutes after they parked and disembarked from their car to buy some items.

“It was a narrow escape,” an eyewitness told ogbomosoinsightonline.com. “The couple just parked their car and got down to buy some items at the side of the metal scrap yard. That’s when the trailer had its large container fall on the car. Thank God no other person was in the car.

It was further learnt that the trailer coming from the direction of Oyo tried to avoid head-on collision with a bus going towards the opposite direction whose driver was busy using his mobile phone and so lost concentration. “It was while the trailer driver tried to avoid hitting the bus that he slipped in a ditch and fell on the parked car.”

As at the time of filing this report the smaller vehicle, a Toyota brand, is still trapped under, and without a hiyab truck to lift the trailer, the car cannot be removed, it is observed.
