SEARCHLIGHT: New order unfolding in LAUTECH – As Kalilu years begin

A new order is unfolding at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo state, to the admiration of sticklers for due process, correctness and financial appropriateness. The new regime headed by Vice Chancellor Rasak Olatunde Rom Kalilu is no doubt living up to expectation, the man has not disappointed those who promoted his candidature some six months ago. Investigations among staff of the institution revealed that financial propriety is being entrenched. And it is changing the narrative in a positive way.

“The new administration is inspiring, Prof Kalilu is doing everything to forestall inappropriate financial draining; wastage
are now plugged, due process is followed in matters of financial application,” a staffer who however pleaded anonymity informed.
Another said, “Now, contractors are made to execute projects with their funds and get paid in accordance with work done. A situation where contractors are paid upfront is now discontinued as this, it is found, gives room for dishonest maneuvering resulting in substandard works. If your execution is found to be substandard you don’t get paid..”

There is also searchlight on the internal system, it was also disclosed, “In the past after people made supplies or executed projects the fund was released by the institution but the contractor would never get the money, it got missing in transit. All these improprieties are being tackled, Prof Kalilu will not steal money and he doesn’t give room to it.”
Let the good work continue, let innovativeness persists to pervade his administration, let’s see more of internationality being intensified, those are some of the ways an enduring legacy can be bequeathed. Let the Kalilu era be strewn with landmark achievements towards building the best university in Nigeria.
