Femi Onireti gives scholarship to another student

Hon Olufemi Onireti, a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has gifted scholarship award to another undergraduate, Hajarat Kanyinsola Lawal.

The scholarship which covers her tuition (N231, 888 – two hundred and thirty one thousand eight hundred and eighty eight naira) until she completes her studies was first awarded in 2022 following her excellent performance in a quiz competition organized by Onireti Foundation coupled with the good result she posted in the 2021 WAEC result, got delayed because of her inability to gain admission in earnest.

She has now secured admission to study Optometry in the Faculty of Medicine/Pharmaceutical/Health Sciences at the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara state. It is six-year course.

According to the businessman the scholarship is “based on my commitment towards building my community through providing quality educational support to indigenous students of Ogbomoso.”

Speaking with ogbomosoinsightonline.com Hajarat Lawal who was also given a laptop previously expressed gratitude to her benefactor promising to excel in our studies.

Recall Onireti earlier in the year paid N500, 000 (five hundred thousand naira) tuition of the student who scored highest in the 2023 UTME in Ogbomoso zone, Alabi Helen, who gained admission to study medicine at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso. This is as he awarded several other students bursaries to provide succour for them.
