Draw for Orumogege Football Competition holds tomorrow Friday, sub-committee unveiled

Draw for the maiden Soun Orumogege Football Competition will hold Friday, August 30 at the main bowl of the Soun Stadium, Ogbomoso, Oyo state.

This is as names of members of an enlarged organizing committee of the competition has been unveiled.

According to a press release by the organizers, Ogbomoso Community Youth Forum, OCYF, the draw will start 3:00pm.

The tournament proper that will involve the 32 participating teams is billed to commence Sunday 8th of September, 2024.

The enlarged committee incorporating other stakeholders such as former footballers, coaches and administrators include from the OCYF Sports Committee Mr. Amos Ado (chairman), Dr. Adeniji Idowu (secretary), Mr. Adeniran Adebayo and Mrs. Alagbe Olufunke, while the incorporated team consists of Coach Oyetunji A. Oyedeji (media officer of Crown Football Club, Ogbomoso), Coach Akintola Olubisi Awoye, Coach Alagbe Toyese Oyoo, Mr. Sunday Oluwatoyin, Coach Waheed Bello (an ex-footballer) and Mr. Taiwo Alaba.

The tournament promises to be exciting in view of the efforts being channeled into it and based on feelers from the participating teams.

Meanwhile, the participating teams have not been disclosed as registration continues until the day of the draw and it is not yet stated if teams will be seeded and whether the fixtures will be made public immediately or at a later date.

The teams were charged to strive “for excellence in the competition, play by the rule and cooperate with the organizers.”
