Kenyan Chef Maliha: Update on Chef Tope Maggie’s Guinness World Record 200hrs cook-a-thon feat

Tope Ayodeji Adebayo fondly called Chef Tope Maggie who Saturday November 25 completed his cooking marathon quest in Ogbomoso Oyo state Nigeria in an attempt to smash the Guinness World Records (GWR) in cook-a-thon, is still putting together documents and evidences to send to the GWR team which will verify his attempt and determine whether he has set a new record in the category.

ogbomosoinsightonline.com reports that a Kenyan chef, Maliha Muhammed, Wednesday, November 23, finished her cooking marathon in a time of 150 hours 11 seconds, a feat that has thrown her supporters in frenzy jubilating she had broken Irishman Alan Fisher’s record of 119 hours 57 minutes 16 seconds set in October 2023 in Japan apparently ignorant of Tope Maggie’s feat five days earlier.
In the report it is stated the Maliha team is expecting GWR acknowledgement and recognition as a starter within five days.
Ogbomoso Insight consequently reached out to Mr. Alabi Tunji Michael, who is general manager of Chef Tope’s quest, Saturday requesting the latest development.

Mr. Alabi, a former media officer of Crown FC, however, said the team had not rested informing what needed to be done is being done meticulously to avoid mix up.
ATM as he is fondly called assures in the next few days the package would reach the GWR team for verification.
“Yes, we have been working to compile the evidence of Chef Tope’s cooking marathon which ended in the early hours of Saturday November 18. It is important all the records taken are put straight in order to avoid mix ups, and so we are meticulously putting them together.
“It remains one or so, the media/digital aspect, and after that is properly done like the video has to be in a particular gig, and everything is done satisfactorily, the package will be forwarded to Guinness World Record. In the next few days, that will be done, certainly.”
