Oba Ghandi: Ayoka Foundation trains, empowers 60 indigent on indoor farming

Ayoka Foundation, a non governmental organization, has trained and empowered 60 persons in Ogbomoso, Oyo state.
According to the Chief Operating Officer of the foundation, Olusegun Aremu (ASK), the founder and chairman, Air Vice Marshal Dr Jacob Bolaji Adigun (rtd), the gesture was in commemoration of the ascension to the throne of His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, as Soun of Ogbomosoland.
“The empowerment programme was rolled out to appreciate God for giving Ogbomoso a brand new king Kabiyesi, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, the Orumogege III, Soun of Ogbomosoland after waiting for almost two years. The empowerment is to support our Kabiye’s vision for Ògbómòsóland.”

The training which was comprehensive lasted three days covering cultivation of mushrooms, bee honey, rabbits and snails.
The participants numbering over 60 from the five local governments area in Ogbomoso zone were given start-up capital to put them on a strong footing.
They were encouraged to use the start-up capital judiciously to start a project in respect of the farm activities they were trained on.
The beneficiaries were very grateful for the gesture and assured they would not squander the knowledge and startup capital given to them.
This is Segun Aremu promised the beneficiaries would be effectively monitored “to ensure they utilize the funds for the purpose for which it is meant.”
Ayoka Foundation named after the mother of the founder and chairman, AVM Adigun (rtd), the Akọgun of Ògbómòsóland, has been helping the less privileged and others in the society.
“It has been reaching out to the elderly, widows, widowers, orphans and less privileged in the society,” Aremu said, adding, “We appreciate our radio anchor Mr. Soji Abiojela who assisted immensely in ensuring the programme was a huge success. Mr. Soji Snookers is the organisation’s radio anchor at Parrot FM, , under the banner of the programme ”Ògbómòsó La wa,” that holds every Sunday @7pm.”
