Ogbegun road project to complete in 2 months, as residents hail Makinde

The contractor handling the Ogbegun road project in Ogbomoso that comprises bridge construction and asphaltic tarring of 600m stretch of the road has assured that the project would last only 2 months.
Engr. Raji Adebayo, the CEO of RA and OA Integrated Nig. Ltd. told ogbomosoinsightonline.com Monday during the flag-off ceremony of the project when asked, that the project would not last more than two months, “It won’t take us more than two months,” he affirmed.
He assured a good job would be done saying digging of drainage had begun which was confirmed by our correspondent.
Earlier the chairman of Ogbomoso North local government, Hon Kabir Akanji Ayoade, in his speech at the ceremony, hailed the Oyo state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde describing him as a listening governor.
“We thank the governor Engr. Oluwaseyi Makinde for approving this road which is aimed at lessening the hardship faced by the people living in Ogbegun communities especially during the rainy season.
“But now God will make hardship over the road a thing of the past. This project is beyond construction of bridge; the road will also be rehabilitated and tarred. We are here today for the flag off ceremony.”
Canvassing for votes in the forthcoming general election, Hon Ayoade charged, “We call on Ogbegun residents, return this favour with your votes, there are many other things to be done. The contractor is a tested contractor, he is certain to do a good job you should support him.”
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman in Ogbomoso North local government, Hon George Ogunlade commended Ogbegun residents for their patience and tolerance all the while the road was in a deplorable condition, adding, “You followed due process, you did not resort to criticizing or defaming the government, rather, you went through the right channel, approaching the council chairman to seek his intervention.
“Impressively, the chairman responded, coming to inspect the bridge and road promptly, and realizing it was beyond the capacity of the local government he appealed to the state government. Thank God, Engr. Makinde hearkened to the chairman. I want to tell you the governor is passionate about the welfare of the people and that is why he approved the road.
“I thank you for your faith in the governor and I want to tell you he is poised to do more in terms of provision of amenities. I want to appeal to you to support Engr. Makinde and all PDP candidates in the coming elections.
“You should be rest assured the governor will do more for you, who told you, you can’t be awarded street light? One good turn deserves another, the governor has done well for you we beg you to repay him with your votes,” Ogunlade solicited.
Chairman of Ogbegun Landlords Association, Mr. Reuben Omoniyi stated the community made a lot of efforts to get the project done. “We even made attempts to get the bridge repaired at the community level but it was beyond us and so we appealed relentlessly to governments to assist us. Here we are today, and so, we express gratitude to the governor, he is indeed a governor of the masses, we wish him greater success even as he seeks reelection.”
Other residents who spoke all heaped encomiums on Governor Makinde praying for success in his reelection bid just as they appealed to him to consider replacing the culvert across the main road leading to Iwofin at Ogbegun junction with a bridge to allow freer flow of water.
The chairman responding promised the phase two of the project would take care of that.
