Construction of the office complex for the Nigeria Immigration Service Passport Unit recently approved for Ogbomoso will commence soon, ogbomosoinsightonline.com can authoritatively reveal.
About two weeks ago
ogbomosoinsightonline.com broke the news that the NIS had approved a passport office for the city to ease access to international passport and other travel documents.
It had now been learnt that the approval was sequel to a request by the chairman of Ogbomoso North local government, Hon Ayoade Kabir Akanji, who submitted an application based on the prompting of an unnamed indigene of the city.
“This person, who has some influence with the Immigration Service asked the chairman to make the request which he promptly did and this led to the approval,” a source close to the chairman informed.
Meanwhile, it has been uncovered that the same person who facilitated the approval had donated 10, 000 units of blocks towards the construction of the complex, which is to be sited within the Ogbomoso Ultra-Modern Market, opposite LAUTECH, Ogbomoso.
It’s disclosed that other logistics are being put in place to make the construction begin, which will be in accordance with the approved model by the NIS.
